The invention relates to a method for automatically estimating a value SP T,E ( D) of a survival rate of biological cells irradiated by a dose D of a first ionising radiation comprising particles of type T and energy E, said cells having a partial oxygen pressure P. Said method comprises: determining (150) a quantity Qi representing a quantity of a given chemical species R, produced by radiolysis of the intracellular medium of the biological cells under the effect of the dose D of the first ionising radiation, when said cells have the partial oxygen pressure P; and determining (152) a dose D' of a second ionising radiation to be applied to the biological cells in order to obtain the same quantity Qi, by radiolysis of said cellular medium, when said cells have a partial oxygen pression P2.
