Method for processing cine cardiac magnetic resonance image sequence to e.g. determine movements of heart muscle, involves calculating dense motion fields by bilinear interpolation, and displaying dense motion fields on dynamic images

The method involves calculating movement of corners of rectangular regions of interest using differences of phase components between two successive images of a phase image sequence at two instants, where the phase image sequence is calculated from a dynamic image sequence. Eight parameters of a local bilinear transformation of a movement vector are calculated to calculate dense motion fields by bilinear interpolation in all points of meshes of a regular rectangular grid of the phase image sequence. The dense motion fields are displayed on the images of the dynamic image sequence.
